What is Canvas Studio?

Studio (formerly Arc) is a communication tool that allows instructors and students to actively collaborate through video and audio media.

Studio's interface lets students and instructors engage with media content by commenting directly on the media timeline. Students can learn from each other's insights as well as from the instructor's direction and feedback.

What are some best practices?

If you are using Studio to deliver or collect content, it is best to do so throughout the course, not just in an emergency.
Limit your message to 10 minutes max, if possible. Not only will it make it easier for your students to absorb the information, but will make it easier for you to update your content later.
Set clear expectations for how many times you wish for students to comment on videos.
It may be helpful to explain to students that you will be able to see if they watched a video and for how long they engaged with it.
